About Locky Jonns

Hey there, my name is Locky Jonns and welcome to my blog, The Foreign Student.
I was born and raised in Eltham, which is about 30 minutes from the city of Melbourne in Australia. I am now on university exchange in South East Asia. The home of crazy parties, drunk tourists and amazing travel.
But first, what’s my background….
University High School is one of the most prestigious state schools in Melbourne. Simply having the word university in it’s title encourages students and lets them dream of their successful futures ahead. What was intended to be like a sister school, Withers Way High is now more of a second step cousin as it was socially forced to drop the word university due to about only 10% of its students continuing on to tertiary education. It’s rumored that ‘Cert 4 High’ was considered as a name but administrators thought otherwise. To say the least, on completion of high school, I was left a long way behind the academic 8 ball.
Lucky for me, I picked up a sporting scholarship and got into college in the United States. My family was pretty proud as my father, grandfather and great grandfather never finished high school. My family has never been known for being smart. But I don’t blame them for that. When schools like Withers Way High exist people are bound to be left behind.
If there is one thing I have learnt in life it’s having an australian accent & a big cheesy grin will be your best ticket to a world full of great people and great times.
